1. As a child what job did you want to have when you grew up?
I wanted to be a diplomat, living in exotic countries and travelling around the world
2. If you had one business lesson to share with your younger self what would it be?
Whenever you are presenting ideas, remember that less is more. Always refine and simplify your messages again and again. You are engaging with people, not machines.
3. Which Internet of Things (IoT) use case has recently fired your imagination?
Everything that is consumer IoT and especially the cool solutions for connected activities outside the home, for instance, connected augmented reality glasses for skiing, connected drones following cyclists, etc.
4. What lessons have you learned from doing business in other countries or organisations?
Personal relationships are much more important for business than the explicit business value. People will always go the extra mile for someone they really identify with and who shares the same values. And make sure that you always try the local food – although, perhaps wait until after the critical meeting ended.
