February 4, 2013 – SIMalliance, the global non-profit trade association dedicated to supporting the creation, deployment and management of secure mobile services, has today published a collection of guidelines and recommendations for manufacturers designing handsets, tablets, modems and other devices that utilise a UICC (Universal Integrated Circuit Card).

Munich, Germany – Giesecke & Devrient (G&D) has been selected by chip manufacturer, Intel to deliver lifecycle management of the embedded Secure Elements within Intel’s Smartphone Reference Device. These provide an additional protected area for security-sensitive applications such as payments and ticketing using NFC (Near Field Communications) technology.
