The CommSchool has launched with courses on M2M Communications and Cloud Communications. The CommSchool is the brainchild of Thomas McCarthy-Howe, a consultant and expert in cloud communications and cloud computing.
Thomas has recognised the need for educational courses on leading edge developments that are easy to read and understand. No specialist knowledge is required. He believes that the business case moves the technology and not vice versa. The courses target analysts, investors, managers, engineers, editors — anybody who needs to stay abreast of the technologies that are reshaping the way we communicate.
In a recent interview the CEO of Numerex said: “The biggest hurdle in massive M2M services adoption is customer awareness and education. Customers are not yet fully aware of the complete spectrum of M2M opportunities, the positive impact M2M can have on a business’s core infrastructure, the financial efficiencies it can drive, and the low cost of entry.”
M2M Communications is the first course to go live. It was created by Bob Emmerson, who is a qualified engineer as well as a freelance writer and industry observer. Bob has been observing M2M for several years and this course reflects his learning curve.
CommSchool
It is divided into two sections, each of which has three parts. It starts with an introduction, which is followed by the business case for this versatile technology and then the key concerns. The second section covers the solution and service providers and this is followed by two parts that examine near- and medium-term developments, e.g. M2M in the Cloud and the integration of M2M apps with business processes.
Course materials are downloaded from the site (www.commschoolcom) and there is a special introductory price of US$59 for each three-part section of the course.
