Maingate, one of the world’s first service operators to specialise in connecting people, machines, and information has announced the opening of their London office located on the Old Marylebone Road.
Founded in 1998 in Sweden, Maingate were one of the very first companies to explore the field of M2M (machine-to-machine) connectivity, and are the co-founders of the m2mGlobal Alliance, an organisation committed to bringing locally supported M2M GSM services to companies all over the world. Today, they are at the forefront of information and communications technology, exploring new ways to help people access, create, and share information across an array of communication networks, machines, and devices.
Applications for Maingate technologies include:
• An energy consumption monitoring system that gives E.ON’s customers the ability to track their electricity consumption in real time via a home display panel or through a mobile app.
• A smart container system for Europress that sends a signal when the container is full and ready for transport, ensuring that containers for compacted, recyclable cardboard weren’t transported when only partly filled, resulting in significant energy and cost savings.
• A wireless communications system for Sweden’s security system sector, enabling the entire sector to monitor subscriber status more effectively and reduce the number of missed alarm signals.
