April 16, 2012 — Phigenics, LLC, an innovative water management services company, announced today that it has appointed John Tillotson (pictured) as chief marketing officer (CMO). In this capacity he will lead and develop the company’s evolving product and service offerings, training, certification programmes, and corporate strategy.
For the last 10 years Tillotson has been the head of marketing for nPhase, a pioneer in machine-to-machine (M2M) software and wireless services. nPhase, a winner of the prestigious Chicago Innovation Award in 2004, was acquired by Qualcomm (NASDAQ: QCOM) in 2006, merged as a 50/50 Joint Venture between Qualcomm and Verizon Wireless in 2009, and was fully acquired by Verizon Wireless in January 2012.

Tillotson has significant prior experience in water and clean technologies commercialising major technology innovations for Nalco Chemical Company. As a product manager, he commercialised a Nalco-patented fluorescence-based sensor technology which enabled advanced control and diagnostics of water chemistry and water systems, as well as a patented stable liquid bromine biocide technology and chemical delivery system which enabled performance, health and safety advancements in microbial control of cooling water systems.
As a market development manager, Tillotson developed Nalco business in commercial real estate, hotels and resorts markets. During his tenure at Nalco he was awarded the Chairman’s Achievement Award (2000), Grand Prize Suez Innovation Award (2000), and Marketer of the Year Award (1998, 2000). John Tillotson holds an MS in Civil Engineering from Tufts University with a specialisation in Hazardous Materials Management, and a BS in Chemistry and Geology.

Phigenics CTO, Dr William McCoy serves as chair of the ASHRAE Standards Project Committee 188, Prevention of Legionellosis Associated with Building Water Systems. The Phigenics Analytical Services Laboratories (PASL) are certified as proficient in the Environmental Legionella Isolation Techniques Evaluation (ELITE) program administered by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
