Chicago, Illinois, USA. 4G World 2012 Conference and Expo — The Omega Management Suite™ from RACO Wireless has been selected as the overall winner in the Best of 4G Awards “Impactful M2M Application or Solution” category. Winners were announced at a ceremony held at the 4G World conference and expo this week in Chicago.

Omega Management Suite

RACO Wireless describes the Omega Management Suite as a “powerful web-based application providing customers with a single pane of glass for M2M device management”. It aims to simplify device management and give users full control of their machine-to-machine (M2M) solution.

While the application is entirely web-based, there is no software or plug-in to install, users simply login from any web browser and manage their SIMs from anywhere in the world. Developers can also integrate Omega Management Suite features into their own applications by utilising Omega Ricochet™, a comprehensive set of development application programme interfaces (APIs).

“The Best of 4G Awards celebrates excellence in 4G innovation,” says Joe Braue, general manager of 4G World. “The calibre of entries received in this year’s awards was very high, and we congratulate RACO Wireless for demonstrating outstanding innovation and leadership with their Omega Management Suite.”

“This award further validates the advances that RACO Wireless is making in the M2M space and we are honoured by this recognition,” said John Horn (pictured), president of RACO Wireless. “Our entire focus is to be the easiest to do business with and the Omega Management Suite really captures that vision.”

The Best of 4G Awards, now in its fourth year, recognises businesses and organisations that are leading innovation and driving the adoption of 4G mobile broadband. The awards programme includes a wide range of categories and was open to all members of the mobile ecosystem. All submissions were reviewed by an independent panel of judges comprised of the industry’s leading analysts and academics.

RACO Wireless, as a T-Mobile partner for 10 years, is a provider of wireless data solutions to the M2M industry. The company specialises in making it easy for companies to build, support and enhance wireless M2M applications. RACO Wireless can assemble a flexible, end-to-end M2M wireless connectivity solution for its partners — including delivering custom rate plans, tailored billing solutions and customised wireless connectivity, as well as helping them brand their M2M applications and delivering 24/7 customer service. Among its numerous awards, RACO Wireless has been recognised with a Stevie® Award from the American Business Awards as 2012’s Most Innovative Tech Company and as the 2012 Entrepreneurial Company of the Year by Frost and Sullivan.

4G World is said to be the only conference and expo covering the entire ecosystem of next-generation 4G technologies that enable the mobile internet revolution, including mobile network infrastructure, advanced devices, applications and content. Owned and operated by UBM TechWeb, the show provides insight into the state of the industry today and explores advances that will affect operators within the mobile ecosystem in the years ahead.

As a ubiquitous network takes hold in the mature markets of North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific, operators are anticipating massive growth in broadband data usage and planning their network migration strategies and business models for monetising mobile internet services. 4G World offers attendees an opportunity to research state-of-the-practice business models and advanced mobile technologies, and learn from other operators about what works and what doesn’t, as they migrate their networks to 4G.
