Nice, France. March 26, 2013 — A new event, M2M Innovation World Congress (Nice, September 24-26, 2013) has been launched to explore the most innovative M2M services in sectors such as smart grids, retail and consumer electronics as well as other industry verticals with high potential.
Held within World Smart Week, the congress’ first distinctive features have just been unveiled, including the first keynotes, and a visit to a pioneer solar-energy smart grid.
M2M Innovation World Congress will tackle topical machine-to-machine (M2M) issues from the point of view of the end-customer. Over 40 speakers have been selected by its Programme Committee, and the speakers will review use cases, decrypt the value chain, unveil innovations and discuss new business opportunities.
Focusing on applications rather than technologies, the conference will address the market that today totals over 100 million sensors, vending machines, smart meters and other connected devices, all communicating automatically. By 2020, this figure is estimated to reach 50 billion. On the way to this real ‘Internet of things’, M2M implementations in the public and private sectors already show clear benefits such as reduced operational costs, improved service quality, competitive edge, better informed decision-making, and new revenue sources. These M2M services will be assessed and discussed during 2.5 days at the conference.
