Transatel forms alliance with Digi International to accelerate M2M services in Europe

Paris, France – Transatel, a European mobile virtual network enabler (MVNE) and M2M connectivity enabler, has announced the settlement of an alliance with Digi International, a leading provider of M2M device management and application enablement solutions.

This collaboration between Digi and Transatel aims to simplify SIM and device management through the integration of Device Cloud by Etherios™, Digi’s award-winning cloud-based device management platform, and Transatel’s connectivity management platform. This integration will shorten the time-to-market of new M2M services and simplify the service delivery and subsequent operation.

Mobile network operators (MNO) using the Transatel enabling platform will be able to provide additional value to their M2M customers on the device and application layer. This additional capacity is leveraged by the experience and track record of Digi in various verticals including medical, smart cities and mobile assets. This scalable offer is based on the flexible license-per-device model of Device Cloud to support MNO and Service Providers in the development of new services from the test phase to the commercial phase.

This partnership is part of Transatel’s strategy to develop a partner ecosystem and to provide end-to-end M2M solutions to mobile operators and M2M service providers.

Transatel was founded in August 2000 with headquarters in Paris, France and operations in France, United Kingdom, Belgium, Switzerland, Luxembourg and The Netherlands.  The company is active in the MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator) space and the M2M space as enabler (MVNE), aggregator (MVNA) and operator (MVNO).  Transatel offers turnkey solutions to mobile operators and companies wishing to launch an MVNO service and/or support innovative and flexible M2M services.  As MVNE, Transatel is already connected to eight major mobile operators in Europe (Bouygues Telecom and Orange in France, Orange in Switzerland, Everything Everywhere in the UK, Base and Mobistar in Belgium, Telfort in the Netherlands and Tango in Luxembourg).

Digi International combines M2M products and services as end-to-end solutions designed to drive business efficiencies. Digi provides the industry’s broadest range of wireless products, a cloud computing platform tailored for devices and development services to help customers get to market fast with wireless devices and applications.  Digi’s entire solution set is tailored to allow any device to communicate with any application, anywhere in the world.
