SIMalliance to host Free SIM and secure element training workshop at SIMposium Global

Event date: 24 June, 2013
Amsterdam RAI

Geneva, Switzerland – SIMalliance, the global non-profit trade association dedicated to supporting the creation, deployment and management of secure mobile services, is inviting key actors in the mobile services space to attend a free training workshop, which will provide a concise, high-level education on the SIM and Secure Element (SE) technology.

The half-day training session, ‘Evolving SIM Technologies and Secure Elements’, will take place ahead of SIMposium Global, at the Amsterdam RAI, on 24 June and will run from 09.30 to 13.30.

The workshop is aimed at anyone who wants to learn about SIM and SE technology and understand its critical role in the provision of advanced security in mobile services.  The session will explore the wider SIM/SE standardisation landscape and will aim to familiarise delegates with the key organisations driving the creation of an open and interoperable infrastructure.  Delegates will learn about the latest technology developments, recommendations and free resources which are enabling the market to simplify SE implementation and how to make the most of the emerging opportunities presented by advances in Long Term Evolution (LTE), Near Field Communication (NFC) and Machine to Machine (M2M).

Frédéric Vasnier, Chairman of the SIMalliance, says: “One of SIMalliance’s key priorities is to raise awareness of the essential role of the SE in delivering secure mobile applications and services; integral to the end goal of facilitating and accelerating delivery of secure mobile applications globally, is the promotion of an open SE ecosystem. By offering a free training session on SIM and SE technologies, including industry standardisation efforts, we hope to further our organisational goal of educating the market on this important topic while also equipping delegates with key, up-to-date knowledge to enable them to derive the maximum value from their visit to SIMposium Global”.

Delegates can register attendance for the free SIMalliance ‘Evolving SIM Technologies and Secure Elements’ workshop, at www.simposiumglobal.com/pre-conference-training-workshop.

Hosted by SIMalliance, in partnership with Informa Telecoms and Media, SIMposium Global, which takes place at the RAI Amsterdam on 25-26 June, is the only international SE forum and is dedicated to addressing the security, identity and mobility challenges of the developing mobile services ecosystem.

SIMalliance is the global, non-profit industry association which simplifies SE implementation to drive the creation, deployment and management of secure mobile services. The organisation promotes the essential role of the secure element in delivering secure mobile applications and services across all devices that can access wireless networks. By identifying and addressing SE-related technical issues, and both clarifying and recommending existing technical standards relevant to SE implementation, the SIMalliance aims to promote an open SE ecosystem to facilitate and accelerate delivery of secure mobile applications globally.
