Richardson RFPD introduces new M100 3G series of industrial modems from Maestro Wireless

LaFox, Illinois, USA – Richardson RFPD, Inc. has announced the availability and full design support capabilities for a new family of industrial modems from Maestro Wireless.

The M100 3G series features a dual- or tri-band UMTS module, making them immediately usable in demanding M2M applications worldwide. Available in 63 mm x 60 mm x 23 mm aluminium packages, they are some of the smallest 3G industrial devices on the market.

The new modems offer industrial temperature support up to 75ºC, two digital input/output pins, real-time clock (RTC) backup, and voice support. They are also fully backward-compatible with existing GSM/GPRS/EDGE networks, and offer support for USB 2.0 with a mini-SB connector, as well as for Qualcomm’s gpsOneXTRA™. A wide range of internet services are available in the modems, including TCP, UDP, FTP, HTTP, SMTP, POP3, SNMP, and SSL. The M100 3G modems are ideally-suited to a broad range of M2M applications addressing rugged conditions requiring extended lifetime requirements, including electricity meters, intrusion alarms and vending machine connectivity applications .

The Maestro Wireless Smart Pack v2.0 technology is loaded in all M100 3G devices to facilitate easier device setup, network registration, and quick integration into applications.
