Certification of TOBY-L100 module enables IoT and M2M customers to leverage America’s largest 4G LTE Network

Thalwil, SwitzerlandApril 4, 2014 – Swiss-based u-blox has announced that it’s TOBY-L100 4G LTE module has been certified by Verizon Wireless, meaning that customers can now design the modules into devices operating on the network.

Applications currently using the module include wireless routers, vehicle infotainment and telematics systems, industrial automation, metering, digital signage, and security systems.

The TOBY-L100 includes power management, IP stack and USB 2.0 interface that can be easily embedded within an existing application. A mini PCI-express version, the MPCI-L100, is available for customers with existing devices who want to migrate to more robust technology.

TOBY-L100 delivers ultra-fast data rates and operates in the automotive temperature range from –40°C to +85°C. USB drivers for Windows XP and Windows 7, as well as RIL software for Android 4.0 and 4.2 are available free of charge.

The MPCI-L100, the mini-PCI version, allows customers to switch to the latest u-blox technology.

TOBY-L100’s small form factor supports u-blox’s nested design philosophy which allows smooth migration to LTE from u-blox’s CDMA, GSM, and HSPA modules. The module is also backed by a team of US-based applications engineers.
