Clavister Partners with Intel to launch innovation centre for Internet of Things in Stockholm

Partnership will help to drive development of next-generation security solutions for predicted massive growth in connected devices, enabling secure, smart sustainable cities.Clavister (Nasdaq: CLAV), a leader in high-performance, high-availability network security for the telecom, cloud and enterprise sectors has announced that it is one of the contributing partners for Intel’s new Internet of Things (IoT) Innovation Centre in Stockholm, one of four that Intel will open in Europe this year.

With the IoT sector expected to grow exponentially over the next five years, securing the huge number of new, smart connected devices against hacking and interception will be a key challenge.  As a leading provider of advanced security technology, Clavister is ideally positioned to help drive the development of next-generation solutions, working in partnership with Intel.

Jim Carlsson, CEO of Clavister, said:

“Analysts forecast that there will be over 200 billion devices connected to the internet by 2020, compared with just 5 billion devices today.  Securing this explosion in smart, connected devices will be a huge challenge, and will demand security that is embedded into the devices themselves, to create distributed but secure environments.  We look forward to working with Intel to develop advanced, flexible security solutions that can keep pace with the constantly changing threat landscape, and deliver effective security across a wide range of devices and platforms.”

Intel’s innovation centre, which is one of four to open in Europe this year, will concentrate on the development of Internet of Things (IoT) solutions, with a particular focus on telecommunications and smart sustainable cities. It will also form an active part of Intel’s European research and development network, Intel Labs Europe.

Clavister is one of several leading organisations set to contribute to the launch of Intel’s Innovation Centre for IoT on June 4th, including Ericsson, TeliaSonera, and Yanzi Networks.
