Digi International, Etherios and Kerensen Consulting announce strategic alliance agreement

Minnetonka, Minnesota, USA, June 18, 2014 – Digi International and Etherios, a division of Digi International, and Kerensen Consulting, the first Salesforce Platinum Partner in EMEA, have announced a partnership to integrate Device Cloud by Etherios™ and The Social Machine® in Kerensen’s product portfolio. The Social Machine and Device Cloud by Etherios are powerful additions to the Kerensen Consulting portfolio, allowing it to offer best-in-class CRM services to its customers already using the Salesforce platform.

With The Social Machine, companies can seamlessly create actionable business information from machine data. The Social Machine is built on the Salesforce1 Platform and uses Device Cloud by Etherios, a platform-as-a-service that provides two-way communication between any device and the cloud to access, control, configure and upgrade unlimited devices over the Internet using a secure and scalable platform.

Today, machine-to-machine (M2M) communications and the Internet of Things (IoT) are transforming the way businesses approach CRM. Companies are able to directly connect their products, devices and assets into business operations, unlocking new efficiencies and value. Together, Digi International, Etherios and Kerensen are able to leverage this massive opportunity by offering the best of both worlds: Digi and Etherios’ combined industry-leading end-to-end M2M solutions and Kerensen’s consulting and integration expertise and leading CRM market presence in the Europe Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.

“The Internet of Things was recently named as the fifth driver of CRM by Gartner. Businesses now must find new ways to meet the needs of customers. Integrating the Internet of Things into existing business processes drives new efficiencies, creates new revenue streams and enables companies to offer an entirely new level of customer service,” said Mike Dannenfeldt, Senior Vice President of Etherios Solutions. “Etherios sought out a strategic partner to meet the increasing international demand for Internet of Things solutions delivered through The Social Machine and Device Cloud by Etherios. The combination of Etherios’ cutting-edge Internet of Things software and Kerensen’s local presence with Salesforce.com customers in European and Asian markets ensures success in deploying connected product solutions.”

“There’s an incredible opportunity around connecting products to business applications like salesforce.com. Etherios and Digi International are uniquely positioned with their end-to-end M2M solution capabilities and a proven track record of nearly 30 years of success,” said Alain Attias, CEO of Kerensen. “Utilising our innovation DNA and this expertise of deploying solutions—from the hardware to the application—helps customers get complete solutions implemented quickly and experiencing an immediate return-on-investment.”
