SATO selects LogMeIn to enable its next generation of IoT-connected printers

LogMeIn has announced that SATO has selected LogMeIn’s Xively Internet of Things (IoT) platform to build next-generation connectivity into its printers. SATO, a provider of barcode printing, labeling, and EPC/RFID solutions, is also working with LogMeIn’s IoT experts to maximise the business value of its IoT-connected products and accelerate their time to market. As a result, SATO anticipates a faster introduction of connected customer experiences across market segments, further differentiating its printer solutions against competitors, and lowering operational and support costs for its customers.

SATO selected LogMeIn based on the company’s early expertise in the IoT, deep experience delivering scalable customer engagement solutions, and unique ability to demonstrate how customers can interact with SATO products using the Xively platform.

“We believe the IoT will fundamentally transform the ways that companies engage with their customers, leading to much more fruitful and longer-lasting customer relationships. By enabling new insights into product health and usage, and a more direct line between companies and their customers, the IoT can have a profound impact on business success,” said Paddy Srinivasan, VP Products for Xively, LogMeIn. “SATO has a rich history of pioneering advances in the printing industry. We’re excited to help them realize their vision of delivering IoT-based innovations that change the face of customer engagement.”

SATO demonstrated an early version of a Xively-connected printer integrated with Salesforce.com at Dreamforce 2014 in San Francisco. Xively is a purpose-built IoT platform-as-a-service (PaaS) designed to accelerate and simplify the creation and management of connected products. It is built on LogMeIn’s Gravity infrastructure, a secure, global cloud that connects hundreds of millions of devices annually. LogMeIn’s Xively Professional Services is deeply experienced in the multi-discipline requirements and processes inherent in building an end-to-end IoT-based solution. Using LogMeIn’s Business-First approach, the team helps companies transform connected product visions into market reality.
