151 Advisors expands M2M & wireless practice with associate partners Lamberth and Rector

151-Advisors

151 Advisors, a strategic consulting firm for mobile, Internet of Things (IoT), cloud-based software and technology companies, has announced the expansion of its leadership team with the addition of Laurie Lamberth and Jay Rector as Associate Partners. The new team members strengthen 151 Advisors’ management experience and bring additional expertise as the company continues to assist technology companies across the world in solving critical business challenges.

Rector has over 25 years of experience in the wireless industry and helped introduce GPS, location-based services and wireless data to the U.S. auto manufacturers in the mid-90’s. In addition, he wrote the go-to-market strategy for mass market wireless data at BellSouth Mobility in early 2000. Following his key involvement in the BellSouth merger with SBC to form Cingular where he led New Product Development, the infrastructure and processes he created at modern day AT&T now generate billions of dollars in annual recurring data revenue. Rector is in mass market products commercialising browsers on phones, interactive text messaging, server to mobile API transactions, location-based services, connected-car programms and, most recently, innovations for indoor wireless using small cells.

“Jay brings immensely strategic management experience to the team and has a proven history of success that will be a huge asset in ensuring a record-breaking year in 2015 for 151 Advisors,” said Bill Rom, managing partner at 151 Advisors. “We are confident that he will be able to utilise his vast experience, creativity, and impeccable professionalism and client servicing skills to grow and expand business for 151 Advisors.”

Similarly, Laurie Lamberth has more than 20 years of experience in mobile, M2M, IoT and digital media and will accelerate 151 Advisors’ recently announced IoT/M2M practice. Additionally, Lamberth is recognised as one of Connected World Magazine’s “Women of M2M” and AlwaysOn Networks named her a “Power Player in Mobile.” More recently, influencer marketing firm, Onalytica, included Lamberth as a top M2M influencer on the company’s list of “Top 100 M2M Influencers and Brands.”

Lamberth regularly publishes, speaks, and is interviewed for print, radio, and TV on a variety of topics related to wireless, location-based services, privacy, IoT and next-gen telecom. Over the course of her career, she held a number of leadership roles, including launching U.S. tier 1 mobile operator Nextel Communication’s first market, propelling Nextel’s and Sprint Nextel’s growth in various marketing and strategic partnership positions, and leading their enterprise business development team for seven years, including five years leading the M2M business development team.

“Laurie’s depth and breadth of knowledge of the IoT and M2M, backed by her proven success helping early and growth-stage companies drive connected products and services to market, is a strategic complement to our leadership team that will result in bottom-line results for our clients,” said Steve Brumer, partner at 151 Advisors. “She’s execution-focused with rich experience and contacts in mobile, M2M, enterprise mobility, location-based services (LBS) and mobile marketing.”

151 Advisors recently announced specialised consulting services to help companies in today’s rapidly evolving global IoT and Industrial Internet ecosystem solve critical business problems, seize new market opportunities, and accelerate results. 151 Advisors offers industry-focused strategic, business and financial planning, go-to-market execution, distribution and channel development, strategic partnership development, corporate development and M&A.
