Cyan wins Smart Metering, ICT & Data Management Award

Cyan has won the Smart Metering, ICT & Data Management Award at the European Utility Week 2015 Awards for its CyLec® retrofit smart metering module – designed for the power sector in emerging economies.

Judges felt that Cyan had contributed greatly to the formation of Advanced Metering Infrastructure, praising the originality, practicality and sustainability of Cyan’s CyLec Connect retrofit module.  The technology provides smart metering functionality to legacy meters to accelerate the rollout of smart grids without having to ‘rip and replace’ the existing meter stock.

John Cronin, executive chairman of Cyan Technology, commented: “We are thrilled to receive this prestigious award in recognition of Cyan’s innovation in next-generation smart grids.  We continue to create innovative solutions tailored to the specific environmental and economic conditions in which they are deployed.  It’s great to see our hard work recognised by such a respected institution.”

The awards were presented at European Utility Week, held in Vienna over 3 days, which brings together 10,000 smart energy professionals from around the world.  These experts share insights on how the energy sector can move forward, where innovation is needed and also the role of the policy maker and new market entrant in establishing a cleaner future.
