Masternaut Connect case study: Holmes Mann improves fleet efficiency and utilisation after implementing Masternaut Connect

Holmes Mann has improved vehicle utilisation and fleet efficiency after implementing a telematics system Masternaut Connect from Masternaut.

Holmes Mann implemented telematics across its fleet of HGV delivery vehicles, with the system being used to ensure duty of care and maximise utilisation.

The Masternaut system provides Holmes Mann with in-depth monitoring, looking at speeding, idling, and mileage. Since implementation, productivity has improved drastically, with all drivers working as efficiently and safely as possible.

Real time monitoring

Fleet managers at Holmes Mann have in-depth visibility of their fleet in real time, minimising coordination challenges and improving vehicle utilisation. Masternaut Connect gives Holmes Mann the ability to optimise the effectiveness of the fleet, ensuring more jobs can be completed through improved scheduling.

The system is a vital part of everyday routine, used to locate, track and monitor vehicles so the company knows where assets are at all times.

This ensures the best utilisation of vehicles, with Holmes Mann able to plan for when vehicles return to the depot, reload them and send them back out. This enables Holmes Mann to get the most out of the fleet every day.

Masternaut Connect data accuracy

Masternaut Connect provides data direct from the vehicle, so is 100% accurate, giving Holmes Mann a precise and detailed breakdown of vehicle usage and fuel economy.

Barny Holmes, managing director, Holmes Mann said: “Even though we have a relatively small fleet, we’ve found telematics to be extremely beneficial to our business. We’ve been able to completely customise our settings, to ensure that we are using all the functions that are vital to running our production and transport divisions. When running a company and a fleet of vehicles, it’s important to have an up to date and user friendly system and Masternaut provides us with that and more.”

Steve Towe, chief commercial officer and UK managing director, Masternaut added: “Telematics is not exclusively reserved for large fleets, SME businesses can also reap the benefits, as Holmes Mann has done. Telematics can become a vital tool to help you become more efficient, provide duty of care to your staff and ensure you are complying with any industry guidelines.”
