Finalists announced in 7th Wearable Tech Innovation World Cup

The club of the most innovative wearables worldwide has been selected by the international jury of the WT | Wearable Technologies Innovation World Cup.

More than 450 techpreneurs from around the globe submitted their market-ready or almost market-ready wearable solutions in the categories Sports & Fitness, Healthcare & Wellness, Gaming & Lifestyle, Safety & Security, Smart Clothing, and Smart Jewelry. They will become the future stars in wearable technologies. The winners will be announced at the official award ceremony on January 26th at the 19th WT | Wearable Technologies Conference in Munich – THE gathering of the wearable ecosystem.

“This year’s WT Innovation World Cup was inspiring with more than 450 impressive nominations from 60 countries. This proves once again that the WT Innovation World Cup is the leading innovation competition in wearables,” said Andrea Onetti, general manager, Volume MEMS & Analog Division, STMicroelectronics. “Browsing through the innovative ideas and seeing how creative human minds can be is, for us at ST, a great way to see the future of wearable Smart Things.”

The 28 nominated finalists will present their solutions at the WT | Wearable Technologies Conference in Munich 26 January 2016, but only six of them will become a winner in their category and only one of them will be nominated WT Innovator of the Year.
