The next ten years promise huge developments in technology and the connected world. The Internet of Things will be larger, mobile networks stronger and more far-reaching, and devices smarter and more powerful. Consumers, companies, device makers and mobile operators will all have to be ready for what the future holds.
To give us all an idea of what could be on the horizon, and to help IoT players prepare for what will be expected of them, Gemalto asked 1,200 young people from all over the world to help predict what mobile technology will look like in 10 years’ time. They were asked a wide variety of questions, covering topics such as authentication, expectations of network coverage, transport, mHealth, workplaces, payments, banking and more.
The results are eye-opening, especially when you compare the trends between different countries. The findings have been analysed in a special report, Connected Living 2025, where consumers’ expectations are revealed, and challenges in business practices for mobile operators are raised.
