Finnish telecom and ICT (information and communications technology) operator Lounea Oy has selected Viva Labs to power its move into the smart home market. Together they will provide Z-Wave-based plug-and-play solutions for comfort and security based on Viva’s AI platform for homes.
The smart home market has been growing significantly over recent years, driven by a consumer need for more secure and energy efficient homes. In the USA, telcos have already taken a strong position, and now the European players are making their move. The Viva platform is said to make it possible for them to compete with companies like Nest and Samsung.
The deal with Lounea represents an international breakthrough for Viva Labs, who established a UK-based sales office last autumn to drive growth in the European market.
“Viva Labs has built a solution that is easy to install and use for our customers,” said Ari Ringborg, head of Consumer Business at Lounea, “yet provides unique benefits for comfort and security. Being able to provide this under the Lounea brand lets us take the lead in the smart home field.”
“After our latest partner launch in Norway, we’ve seen significant interest, both nationally and internationally, and our deal with Lounea is the first result of this,”said Henrik Holen, managing director and co-founder of Viva Labs. “The Finnish market has always been at the cutting edge of new technology. We are very much looking forward to helping Lounea launch their Fiksumpi koti service later this quarter.”
