Exosite launches Business Transformation Services to accelerate industrial IoT adoption

Mark Benson, chief technology officer, Exosite

Exosite, LLC, a provider of Internet of Things (IoT) enablement technology and services, has launched Exosite Business Transformation Services to help industrial companies IoT-enable new or legacy products and bring them to market.

This suite of services helps organisations understand the IoT ecosystem, prepare for the business implications of a connected product offering and develop an IoT strategy for long-term success. Exosite Business Transformation Services enable customers to develop complete connected solutions that jumpstart the IoT generation of their business.

Founded in 2009, Exosite provides analytics-driven Internet of Things (IoT) software platforms that allow original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to strategically leverage the revolutionary world of connected devices. Exosite’s cloud-based services aim to enable the world’s durable goods manufacturers in consumer, commercial and industrial markets to quickly build and deploy solutions that accelerate the IoT generation of their business. The company is headquartered in Minneapolis with additional offices in North America, Asia and Europe.

“Today many organisations want an IoT-based product, but don’t have the business model or tools in place to achieve this goal. IoT is more than just about connectivity – it must be used strategically to create significant value, competitive advantage and new sources of revenue,” said Mark Benson, chief technology officer, Exosite. “To accelerate IoT go-to-market strategies for the OEM market, we developed Business Transformation Services to provide practical and strategic guidance to help companies successfully build IoT-based solutions that meet both their technical and business goals.”

As a provider in the IoT market, Exosite quickly recognised that organisations must transform themselves in order to launch and support connected products that realise long-term success. By offering a holistic approach, Exosite Business Transformation Services help organisations first identify the business goals of a connected product and then develop a technical framework to support those goals.

“The benefits of Internet of Things (IoT) to our economy and our lives is proven every day. Yet IoT for any enterprise can be complex and may disrupt both existing IT systems and business processes. Exosite’s Business Transformation Services provide the necessary tools and information companies need to overcome their specific IoT adoption hurdles and develop a successful, cost-effective IoT strategy for their organisation,” said Christian Renaud, research director, Internet of Things, 451Research.

An overview

Exosite’s Business Transformation Services are designed to help traditional product manufacturers successfully make the transition to IoT and develop a connected foundation for future innovation and growth. The three Business Transformation Services are:

  • Pivot– IoT seminar that provides a holistic overview of IoT, including the components necessary to create a successful solution, the struggles experienced by organisations along the way, and the best practices to support IoT development.
  • IoT Fusion™ – Two-day strategy workshop that addresses the business model implications, strategic technology decisions, and organisational alignment necessary to ensure go-to-market success for an innovative connected solution.
  • Mosaic– Five-stage process that cultivates revolutionary connected product ideation, explores ideation viability from a business perspective, and develops a standardised IoT framework to support company-wide IoT adoption.
