1. As a child what job did you want to have when you grew up?
Either a fighter pilot or a news reader. I don’t even want to think what a psychologist would make of that.
2. If you had one business lesson to share with your younger self what would it be?
Employ the people you can’t afford to be without, not just the ones your first Budget says you can afford.
3. Which Internet of Things (IoT) use case has recently fired your imagination?
I was fascinated by the environmental as well as economic benefits achieved by one avocado farmer in California who used the Internet of Things to reduce water consumption while improving the farm’s productivity.

4. What lesson have you learned from doing business in other countries or organisations?
Interviewing a company’s entire Board of Directors naked in a Helsinki sauna can be a great leveller. And it’s best to keep your pencil behind your ear.
