Quectel appoints Norbert Muhrer as global head of sales

Quectel Wireless Solutions, a global supplier of Internet of Things (IoT) modules, announced that it has appointed Norbert Muhrer as senior vice president of Global Sales, effective September 1, 2017.

In his new role, Mr. Muhrer will directly report to Quectel CEO Patrick Qian, and will be responsible for driving global market share growth of the company, one of the world’s most promising IoT players.

“I am excited to join Quectel with Patrick and his management,” said Norbert, “Quectel is one of the fastest growing companies in the cellular embedded modules space and I am eager to lead the international expansion with an energetic and mission-focused team.”

Norbert has more than 20 years of senior leadership experience in global IoT industry. Since November 2016, Norbert has engaged in various fields in the IoT industry through his privately held company Evologic GmbH based out of Strasslach, Germany, including transferring IoT start-ups to structured next growth stage, funding rounds, consultancy- and project-based missions as well as interim management functions.

Prior to that, Norbert was the senior vice president of Gemalto M2M business since 2010. He held global responsibility for Sales, Service, R&D, Production and G&A functions with close to 600 employees worldwide and full P&L responsibility for more than 300M euros revenues. Before joining Gemalto, Norbert was the chief executive officer of Cinterion Wireless Modules, which was spun-off from Siemens.
