Feilo Sylvania unveils smart lighting at LuxLive2017

Feilo Sylvania’s SylSmart range of smart lighting solutions is set to debut at LuxLive this November in the IoT Arena (Booth H30, LuxLive, ExCel London). SylSmart solutions offer seamless user experiences, leverage smarter lighting controls, big data and break with the traditional industrial control paradigm currently dominating the lighting control market.

They are built using the latest state-of-the-art IoT technologies such as distributed intelligence, advanced sensors, interoperable Bluetooth Mesh communications, cloud based software services and mobile application interfaces.

SylSmart comprises a suite of smart lighting, connected building and smart city solutions each uniquely tailored to specific user requirements.  The wide range offers solutions specifically for single room applications such as small offices to fully connected buildings with advanced lighting functionality and value added services like workplace space utilisation based on occupancy information from the company’s sensors.

All solutions are designed to deliver maximum energy efficiency and compliance with the highest standards such as BREEAM, LEED, and ESTIDAMA.

Developed in response to the growing trend for users to look for energy savings through intuitive solutions, a selection of SylSmart solutions will be on Booth H30, including:

  • SylSmart Standalone SylSmart Standalone offers an easy to install and use solution to your lighting control needs. Designed with simplicity and intuitive use in mind, these systems deliver controls which can be operated freely of any central controller and do not require any wider infrastructure. Ideal for smaller installations where system complexity, programming and installation time is kept to a minimum, SylSmart Standalone systems still offer a flexible controls solution delivering increased energy saving and an improved user comfort with minimal pain for maximum gains. Sylvania offers a wide range of luminaires with integrated controls combined with its expertly crafted accessories to meet the needs of your projects.
  • SylSmart Connected offers end users a scalable controls solution, which can be fully integrated into a single building or wider applications. With the ability to manage and control one room right through to multiple properties, SylSmart Connected’s unique features include auto-commissioning and decentralised intelligence, which means the lighting automatically detects how the building is being used and configures the lighting system accordingly. No painful (re)-commissioning is required.
  • At LuxLive, Feilo Sylvania – working with Gooee – will also be demonstrating its SylSmart Beyond solution and lighting ecosystem above the IoT Arena. Sylvania Highbay luminaires, fitted with SylSmart Beyond capabilities will be installed in the venue, and will be collecting data on the occupancy of the IoT Arena below via a heatmapping system. View the live data on the booth (H30).

SylSmart Beyond brings all the benefits that only an IoT connected lighting infrastructure can deliver. Building on the SylSmart Connected offering, SylSmart Beyond goes further than delivering lighting efficiency, it also delivers significant value to customers through workplace analytics, asset tracking and indoor navigation, thus creating a truly intelligent building.

Feilo Sylvania’s Bastiaan de Groot, global director Strategy & New Business Development will be speaking at LuxLive as part of the IoT Arena Conference programme, highlighting the significant benefits businesses could benefit from as lighting moves into the traditionally ICT arena:  “Smart lighting is no longer a far away dream, but something real; we now have commercial projects across the globe where customers are benefitting from our SylSmart Beyond lighting offering.

The value of these services can be 7-10 times larger than the value that energy efficient lighting alone brings to our customers. As we are developing more smart lighting propositions, the value that these services deliver to clients will only increase and therefore grow in importance. At the same time we recognise that we cannot do this alone, and therefore our strategic approach is based on collaboration with a wide ecosystem of IT companies, startups, controls companies, customers and many others.”

It may be smart, but where’s the value?

Bastiaan will be taking to the IoT Arena Stage at 17:05 on Wednesday 15th November to deliver an engaging presentation (It may be smart, but where’s the value) looking at how leading players in the smart lighting space deliver value and ROI to customers.
