IoT devices are now the preferred pathway for hackers into enterprise networks. IoT Now’s Jeremy Cowan chats to Drew Johnson, Executive Vice President for Product and Technology at Aeris Communications to learn why IoT networks are so vulnerable and what is being done to prevent malicious attacks.
Drew Johnson is an engineering leader and technologist with more than 30 years of experience at both large and small companies. Currently, Drew is the Executive Vice President of Product and Technology at IoT leader, Aeris in Chicago, IL. Before that, he was the Vice President of Engineering at mobile and messaging software company, Openwave Systems, and Director of Engineering at mobile start-up, SoloMio, in Austin, TX.
Drew started his career at Compaq Computer, working on the first generations of mobile computing devices. Under his product and engineering leadership, he has assisted corporations in winning numerous product awards, including the 2015 IoT Evolution Product of the Year Award, 2015 Communications Solutions Product of the Year Award, and the TU-Automotive Award / 2020 – MSP of the Year Award.
He attained a Master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and holds more than 25 patents.
