HiveMQ has announced the availability of HiveMQ Edge, an open source software gateway with an edge-optimised MQTT (message queuing telemetry transport) broker. HiveMQ Edge helps manufacturing organisations simplify and modernise their industrial IoT infrastructure by converting proprietary OT (operational technology) protocols like Modbus and OPC-UA (open platform communications-united architecture) into standardised MQTT format at edge for integration with enterprise and cloud systems.
