Fibocom has announced that its 4G smart module SC126-NA has received certification from a leading carrier in North America. The SC126-NA is a high-performance smart module designed for the entry-level intelligent IoT market. With its quad-core processor and advanced 11nm technology, this module offers integrated connectivity services to a variety of Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT) terminals, such as smart wireless payment terminals, industrial handhelds, and 4G PTT-over-cellular terminals. This certification further validates the module’s capabilities and ensures reliable performance for various applications.

The global AIoT market is projected to reach high demand with the expansion of AI technology. Smart module empowers IoT devices with mobile computing capabilities, allowing real-time data processing and analysis, reducing the decision-making timeline in critical scenarios for industry customers, and improving overall efficiency. The validation of Fibocom’s SC126-NA smart module can shorten the certification cycle of customers’ terminal devices and ease investment concerns for customers’ IoT projects.

Notably, Fibocom SC126-NA is equipped with an open Android operating system with multimedia processing capabilities. It can be connected to a full high definition (FHD) touchscreen, supporting multi-channel camera input, plus H.265 / H.264 encoding and decoding capabilities and integrating with facial recognition algorithms.

In addition, SC126-NA is capable of providing precise positioning and navigation with the global navigation satellite system (GNSS). With the scalability to support a rich set of interfaces including mobile industry processor interface (MIPI)/universal serial bus (USB)/universal asynchronous receiver-transmitter (UART)/serial peripheral interface (SPI)/inter-integrated circuit (I2C), etc, Fibocom SC126-NA is a smart wireless formula for various applications that require the integration of cellular communication and multimedia features.

With the expanding landscape of AIoT applications in the global market, Fibocom developed a series of regional versions of SC126 to support the frequency bands in Europe and APAC, as well as Wi-Fi version to satisfy market demands.
