India claims to have the 3rd largest start up ecosystem in the world with more than 26,000 start-ups. It is estimated that India will have over 1,00,000 start ups by 2025. The Government of India has been aggressively promoting Start up entities, and has created a ‘funds of funds’ of Rs 10,000 crore.
“I see startups, technology and innovation as exciting and effective instruments for India’s transformation,’’ said Shri Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India.
Supporting Government of India’s commitment to boost start ups, India Trade Promotion Organisation and Exhibitions India Group announced that the 5th smart cities India 2019 expo will host 100+ start ups in a dedicated pavilion during the expo. The start ups will display solutions from the realm of smart cities, intelligent buildings, energy, transportation, water management and more.
Smart cities India expo organised by India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) and Exhibitions India Group has developed into Asia’s largest trade fair and conference on this subject.
The expo attracts the attention of government providers, city administrators, public enterprises, urban planners, architects, social groups, influential individuals, industry experts, other countries, their diplomats and enterprises, ICT and other technology organisations, buildings, construction, energy, transportation, water industries, and all other disciplines and business involved in improving city infrastructure relevant to creating smart and sustainable areas.
The expo will provide start ups with a low cost platform to connect and network with investors, influencers, policy makers, corporates and customers. “Underscoring innovation and entrepreneurship, the smart cities India 2019 expo is organising ‘Smart Cities – Start Up India Pavilion.’
The new platform is for startups to pitch their latest innovative technologies, apps and smart solutions to key government and industry provider, urban solution experts and potential investors participating in the Smart Cities 2019 expo. The main aim of the platform is to transform urban challenges into opportunities, besides giving these start ups a boost to the next stage, and with it bring innovative new products to the market,” said Shri LC Goyal, CMD, ITPO.
