Device Cloud Networks appoints wireless industry veteran Dave Williams as Chief Executive Officer

Washington D.C., USA Device Cloud Networks (DCN) has named wireless industry veteran Dave Williams as chief executive officer (CEO). Mr Williams will lead the company’s day-to-day operations and team development. Founder and former CEO Blake Swensrud will continue his role as executive chairman of DCN.
Mr Williams will also be responsible for the company’s technology strategy as it embarks on the next phase of growth of its leading M2M service enablement platform. Having spent his entire career developing wireless telecommunications networks around the globe, he has vast experience building world class networks for tier-one service providers in Europe and the US. He will work towards expanding DCN’s global connectivity and device management solutions in the M2M ecosystem of OEMs, carriers and enterprises.

“We are thrilled to welcome Dave Williams to the team. We have started commercialisation of our next-generation M2M platform and embarking on the next growth phase in this transformative industry,” said Mr. Swensrud.  “Vital for our success is our close cooperation with OEMs, service providers and enterprises and Dave brings a tremendous amount of technology and business expertise to our team. I am confident Dave’s extensive industry experience makes him the right leader for DCN at this time of enormous opportunity and growth for the company.”

Mr Williams joins DCN as former CTO for Telefónica Europe and has experience working with major wireless telecommunications companies.  At Cingular Wireless, he headed up Technology Strategy and was responsible for uniting the company in developing one of the most profitable wireless networks in the world – currently the AT&T network.  Mr Williams was also Head of Wireless Technology at Comcast, where he helped create one of the largest Wi-Fi network deployments in the world.  Most recently he has been helping numerous Silicon Valley venture companies develop their investment portfolios.

“I am honoured to join the DCN team and look forward to working with the company’s board and employees to deliver world-class wireless M2M solutions to our enterprise customers, as the need for M2M connectivity increases rapidly throughout the world,” said Mr Williams. “It is a privilege to join DCN during such an important time.”
