The 9th annual IEC 61850 Week 2022 draws together IEC 61850 implementation leaders for a week-long review of the latest standardisation developments, pilot project results, large-scale implementation experiences, and future application explorations.

The focus of this year’s programme is on driving IEC 61850 implementation through software-based approaches to leverage virtualisation and digitisation across specification, engineering, testing, operation, and maintenance and to fully realise automatic and remote access procedures. A focus on developing the workforce and organisational structures will underpin the content to showcase how the power grid can optimise its use of the latest IEC 61850 solutions.

Day one kicks off with a hands-on System Specification workshop. Days two to four showcase implementation experiences from leading utilities across the globe. Day five wraps up with a deep diving seminar into Digital Twin applications in the substation area.
