IoT Days Spring: Low Power Connectivity

Mass IoT is finally approaching long-anticipated scale, with tens of billions of connected devices becoming a realistic near-term outcome. A major driver of this growth is low-power connectivity, where even modest gains in efficiency can dramatically expand viable use cases. This online conference examines whether today’s low-power technologies—including LoRa, NB-IoT, LTE-M, Cat-1, and emerging cellular options—are truly fulfilling mass IoT’s potential.
A central focus will be the rapid emergence of 5G Reduced Capability (RedCap) as a practical connectivity workhorse. By combining key benefits of 5G, such as low latency and spectral efficiency, with simplified device requirements and lower costs, RedCap is well suited for applications where full 5G performance is unnecessary. Use cases such as wearables, cameras, industrial sensors, and automotive telematics are already driving adoption. Panelists will discuss how RedCap compares to existing low-power options, where migration is likely, and what this shift means for the next phase of large-scale IoT deployment.
