Schweitzer appointed to Software AG executive board as new CCO

The Supervisory Board of Software AG has appointed John Schweitzer, 50, as the new chief customer officer (CCO) and member of the executive board of the company. The appointment take effect on November 1st, 2018.

As the company prepares a refreshed strategy to drive growth under the leadership of new CEO, Sanjay Brahmawar, the appointment of Schweitzer is said to emphasise the importance of a strong go-to-market organisation.

John Schweitzer is described by the company as an inspirational leader with a wealth of experience achieving high growth in both small and large software companies. At SAP, he was responsible for their multi-billion Euro analytics business and successfully launched SAP HANA in the US market. In his 23 years in the international software industry, he has focused predominantly on the application, database, middleware and analytics markets where he has been very successful in developing both incremental and net new business across existing and new geographies.

At Workday and DataStax, Schweitzer built high-performing teams to drive rapid revenue growth in traditional and emerging technology markets. Previously he lived and worked in the UK at Hyperion and Oracle where he led growth strategies for the U.S. and Europe.

An Economics and Finance graduate of Northern Arizona University with further education from IMD Business School in Lausanne, John lives in Los Gatos, California, USA, with his wife and three sons. John Schweitzer succeeds Eric Duffaut, who leaves Software AG after four years to pursue new opportunities outside Software AG.
