To expand its M2M Partner Programme, Zest4 has invested in a well-known industry figure to lead its machine-to-machine (M2M) and Internet of Things (IoT) business.

Following a report by The Government Office for Science about the usefulness of the Internet of Things (IoT), it is interesting to observe the ways in which local government is beginning to reap the benefits of M2M.

The British media has a reputation to somewhat sensationalise stories. Of course, that’s a massive generalisation but the question is, is the press making a song and dance about M2M, the Internet of Things and their potential threat to privacy and security without justification?

The continued and predicted growth of the Internet of Things (IoT) means that more diverse industries are feeling the effects, with yet more on the verge.  This does throw up some challenges, such as how can the IoT reach the more isolated or low cost businesses.
