Apple and Ecobee deal on smart thermostat industry may force other OEMs into partnerships
Last week Ecobee, Inc. announced that their new smart thermostat, the Ecobee 3, will be sold at Apple Stores in the United States. This is the first Ecobee thermostat sold by Apple that is the HomeKit enabled, says Omar Talpur, analyst for Security and Building Technologies at IHS.
