STMicroelectronics, a global semiconductor provider serving customers across the spectrum of electronics applications, has announced the achievement of Vodafone NB-IoT (Narrowband-Internet of Things) certification of its ST87M01 NB-IoT and GNSS (global navigation satellite system) modules. The ST87M01 combines cellular IoT connectivity and geolocation in a miniaturised, low-power, integrated module featured for wide-ranging IoT and smart-industrial applications.

Keysight Technologies, Inc., has submitted the first protocol conformance test case for the 3rd Generation Partnership Project’s (3GPP) Release 17 (Rel-17) standards for non-terrestrial networks (NTN) using narrowband internet of things (NB-IoT) technology. The submission was verified using the Keysight Protocol Conformance Toolset.

The Global Certification Forum (GCF) and Sateliot, which claims to offer the satellite LEO constellation offering NB-IoT connectivity from space under the 3GPP standard, have announced Sateliot as the satellite operator to become a member of GCF.
