One of the main talking points of the 20th anniversary DECT World Conference (May 31 – June 1, Barcelona) will be how technology for smart and secure wireless communications will look in 2020 and beyond.
Smart Homes were one of the main topics at this year’s CES. Manufacturers like Samsung presented a wide range of new products and solutions such as the intelligent ‘Family Hub Refrigerator’, whilst other organisations like the ULE Alliance or the DSP Group announced new partnerships.
From new wireless solutions to intelligent door intercoms for the existing telephone system and wine refrigerators that can be monitored using an app, innovative smart home products were one of the highlights at CeBIT 2015.
Devices and machines which can be connected to multi-functional networks are in high demand. Network-compatible solutions are already common in IT and other sectors such as automation and smart homes. However, most products are expensive, limited to individual manufacturers, or difficult to install.
