The GSMA announced the first confirmed speakers for the third gathering of MWC19 Los Angeles taking place October 22-24, 2019 at the Los Angeles Convention Centre. The GSMA also released additional event details including new programs, exhibitors and participating companies.

Ericsson and T-Mobile have signed a multi-year, US$3.5 billion (€3.02 billion) contract to support T-Mobile’s US-wide 5G network deployment. Under the deal, Ericsson will provide T-Mobile with the latest 5G New Radio (NR) hardware and software compliant with 3GPP standards.

Verizon, Ericsson and Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., a subsidiary of Qualcomm Incorporated extended their technology innovation leadership by completing the first successful FDD Massive MIMO trial with a fully compatible customer device.

Ericsson forecasts there will be 1 billion 5G subscriptions for enhanced mobile broadband by 2023. This prediction is among the key statistics presented in the November edition of the Ericsson Mobility Report released. Expected to be deployed first in dense urban areas, 5G will cover over 20% of the world’s population by the end of 2023.
