Following a report by The Government Office for Science about the usefulness of the Internet of Things (IoT), it is interesting to observe the ways in which local government is beginning to reap the benefits of M2M.

The British media has a reputation to somewhat sensationalise stories. Of course, that’s a massive generalisation but the question is, is the press making a song and dance about M2M, the Internet of Things and their potential threat to privacy and security without justification?

M2M continues to grow and more different industries are seeing the benefits for their individual sectors.  As a technology with so many diverse applications there are still more businesses are coming across M2M for the first time and seeking how it might improve processes and workflow for them.
