Weightless SIG

Professor William Webb, deputy chair at CW (Cambridge Wireless) and CEO of the Weightless SIG, and one of the world’s leading wireless communications experts, has published his latest book that debunks the need and business case for 5G.

A key feature of the LPWAN World Forum held in London (November 10-11), were the stimulating expert panels. As Jeremy Cowan reports, the speakers opted to focus on the business case for low-power wide area networks (LPWAN) more than the technology.

The Weightless SIG announced that M²Communication (M2COMM), a provider of industrial IoT connectivity technologies, has joined the Weightless SIG to lead a Weightless Working Group for the development of a new high performance LPWAN Standard.

Professor William Webb has been awarded an Honorary Doctor of Science degree by The University of Southampton in recognition of his outstanding international contributions in the field of engineering.
