Vattenfall relies on GreenPocket’s smart home software

smarthome

The power company Vattenfall offers its customers a new smart home solution based on Deutsche Telekom’s QIVICON home automation platform. The software was developed by the smart home specialist GreenPocket. The Cologne-based start-up is thereby the first company to produce multiple software solutions for the QIVICON platform.

The new product Vattenfall Smart Home enables the control of heating, lighting and appliances from within the home or while on the move, at the office or during a vacation. The Vattenfall Smart Home Manager – very intuitive in its usage – is available as internet portal for the PC and as app for smartphones and tablet PCs (iOS and Android).

The Cologne-based start-up GreenPocket developed a completely new user interface for Vattenfall. It is characterized by an attractive design and easy handling. Highly intuitive and easily understandable icons help the users finding their way around the software.

With a few clicks they can create personal scenarios, rules and schedules. Depending on the user’s preferences, s/he can arrange the icons on the dashboard as they best suit him/her. Thanks to HTML5 programming, the user interface adapts automatically to the different modes of representation of PC, tablet or smartphone.

Daniel Lowicki, head of the project at Vattenfall, is very satisfied with the result:

“The cooperation with the innovation start-up GreenPocket was highly effective and professional. Together we developed a product, which puts the consumer’s needs first and offers a lot of flexibility to increase energy efficiency, comfort and security at home.”

It is GreenPocket’s third project on the QIVICON platform of Deutsche Telekom. Dr. Thomas Goette, CEO of GreenPocket:

“QIVICON is the leading smart home system in Germany. It was a great challenge to develop a new solution for one of Europe’s biggest utilities compatible with the QIVICON platform. Our experiences from other QIVICON projects did help us a lot in successfully completing the project in time and within the budget.”
