Helping parents keep track of their children, the M2M way

Malaysian operator, Maxis Bhd has announced its partnership with KiddyTrack Sdn Bhd to launch a GPS/ GSM child locator product.

Enabled by Maxis’ network and managed, M2M technology, KiddyTrack users can locate their children or loved ones by sending a simple SMS.

Within seconds of receiving the SMS, the system will provide parents with a link to a Google map that shows the location, as accurately as up to five metres, of their child. If the GPS signal is unavailable, Maxis’ platform can provide the location of the child to an accuracy of a 50 metre radius.

Family members can also monitor their child’s whereabouts via their mobiles or the KiddyTrack web portal. In an emergency, the device can also alert up to five pre-installed numbers with a press of the SOS button at any given time, from anywhere.

Maxis’ corporate business GM, Sekar Shanmuaam, pictured, said that he hoped “this will inspire other business owners and managers to imagine the unlimited commercial possibilities and opportunities that innovations in communication can offer.”
