Istanbul, Turkey – AirTies Wireless Networks, the innovative wireless home networking and set-top box (STB) vendor, has announced the appointment of Mr Nadeem Ullah as director of Hardware Engineering.

AirTies develops and markets consumer electronics products which provide five fundamental services (high speed internet access/ADSL, Wireless LANs, internet based telephony/VoIP, and internet based television/IPTV, and DVB C,S & T STBs) for service providers, small businesses and consumers.

Nadeem Ullah will manage AirTies’ growing Hardware Engineering Team. The team works to deliver next generation Hybrid Set-Top Boxes and wireless home connectivity products. Ullah will also continue in his existing capacity defining the company’s product and silicon strategy.

Ullah has over 15 years’ experience in the Set-Top-Box (STB) industry. Prior to joining AirTies, Nadeem served in a number of Engineering, Technical and Commercial roles at Pace plc. In his most recent position as Silicon Business Specialist at Pace, Ullah managed Pace’s technical and partnership strategy for STB silicon. He possesses comprehensive knowledge of the Pay TV business and many years’ background in successfully delivering complex projects.

Chairman & CEO at AirTies, Bulent Celebi (pictured), commented, “Having experienced industry veterans from major companies forming the core of our teams is vital to our growth, strategy and development. Nadeem’s experience in relevant fields makes him a valuable asset to our aggressive product development programme. His elevated appointment means that we are well positioned to build upon our already notable success. As we continue to drive forward in our vision of the completely connected wireless home, Nadeem will surely play an integral part of that process strengthening our engineering division and laying firm the foundations for future success.”

AirTies was formed in February 2004 by a management and technical team from Silicon Valley, USA, with the strategic intent to become the leader in EMEA markets. AirTies has a worldwide installed base of more than 4 million and is aiming to expand into additional broadband markets. In contrast to its competitors which are dependent on chip companies and ODMs to develop their products, AirTies designs and develops its own hardware and the embedded firmware. Its technological innovations include wireless video distribution to multiple TVs, wireless coverage range extension, and network set-up at the touch of a button. AirTies also offers 24/7 technical support in English, Turkish, Greek and Russian and no-questions-asked defective unit replacement.
