Salt Lake City, Utah, USA – A new family of Wi-Fi sensors, known as MoWi™, has been launched by Monnit Corporation. These sensors use an integrated, 2.4GHz – 802.11b/g, FCC/CE certified radio transmitter, which allows them to work with new and existing Wi-Fi networks globally.
Monnit is a designer and manufacturer of turnkey, self-installing, low cost wireless sensor solutions targeted at the commercial, industrial and consumer markets. Its sensing solutions are designed to be easily installed and used by anyone wanting to remotely monitor information and activities, including: temperature, access, presence of water, light, humidity, and vibration in or around structures, machinery, and various environments
Monnit customers now have the ability to remotely monitor multiple aspects of their business operations via existing Wi-Fi networks. The ability to use Wi-Fi sensors provides cost savings to traditional wired methods. Focused on simplicity, MoWi wireless sensors can be set up, gathering data and notifying users of concerns in just a few short minutes.
MoWi sensors are immediately available in 12 of the most popular sensing types including: temperature, humidity, door and window (open/close), motion, water, activity, dry contact and button. MoWi sensors complement Monnit’s existing line of wireless sensors which are designed to detect and monitor conditions that are critical to businesses. Monnit’s MoWi sensors communicate through existing Wi-Fi networks to iMonnit, the online data monitoring system, which aggregates sensor information and sends notifications via text or email if user defined conditions are met or exceeded.
Monnit also provides MoWi sensors to OEMs and resellers, which allows for white labeling (private branding) of both the wireless sensor hardware and the online monitoring software.
“Monnit has taken the lead in providing reliable, low-cost commercial wireless sensors and we are excited to expand our offering to include Wi-Fi sensors. These products address the needs of our ever-growing customer base by providing easy-to-use wireless sensors that can be used within business’ existing Wi-Fi networks,” said Brad Walters, CEO of Monnit Corporation.
