Saverio Romeo named as new principal analyst at Beecham Research

Cambridge, UK, 10 September 2013 – Beecham Research has announced the appointment of Saverio Romeo as Principal Analyst to broaden and strengthen the company’s programme of international market research and analysis in the M2M and Internet of Things (IoT) market.

Romeo comes to Beecham Research from Frost & Sullivan and, before that, the European Commission. He has more than 10 years’ analyst experience, covering a broad spectrum of communications market activities including: the evolution of the mobile industry, mobile healthcare, smart cities and smart energy, as well as a specific focus on data analytics, mobile software ecosystems and the Internet of Things.

He is also a Research Fellow at the Centre for Innovation Management Research at Birkbeck College, University of London, focusing on academic spin-outs and accelerator programmes in the high-tech sector. He holds three post-graduate degrees in Telecommunications Engineering, Information Technologies, and in Innovation Management and Technology Policy. Romeo also has an extensive background in software development.

Romeo’s appointment comes on the heels of the publication of a new wearable technology report, ‘Wearable Technology: Towards Function with Style’, which covers new developments in this rapidly growing area, and is now a speciality of Beecham Research within the IoT market. Romeo will contribute to upcoming publications, including a new report on M2M solution security, which will be released this month and become another specialist topic for the firm.

Other areas of particular focus include the firm’s extensive work in M2M/IoT platforms and cloud-based solutions, smart home, smart city, smart energy and eHealth. Beecham is also a leading authority on the satellite M2M market, and provides forecasts for all aspects of M2M and IoT, covering both fixed-line and wireless solutions. As principal analyst, Romeo will oversee research in all of these areas, in close collaboration with the other members of the management team.
