Glasgow, UK, 2 December, 2013 – Nigel Chadwick, founding Director of Stream Communications has been awarded ‘Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year’ at a ceremony held in Glasgow as part of the Entrepreneurial Exchange Awards.
Chadwick, who leads a 14-strong team based in London and Glasgow, was described by John Anderson, Chief Executive of the Entrepreneurial Exchange, as “already ahead of his competitors and has ambition coupled with outstanding clients and partners to ensure his business will grow exponentially in the coming decade”.
Chadwick founded the company in 2000 with his business partner, Kevin McDowall to take advantage of growing demand for connected devices. Stream Communications provides reliable wireless connectivity for the fast growing machine to machine (M2M) or Internet of Things (IoT) sector and has a fast growing base of SME as well as blue chip clients. The company recently signed an agreement with global satellite giant Inmarsat to provide connectivity anywhere in the world, supplementing its GPRS, 3G & 4G services.
Chadwick commented: “This is not only a milestone for me, but also huge testimony to the work of our small but close knit team in London and Glasgow. We identified more than a decade ago that M2M would be a significant business opportunity and this is now taking place globally, with analysts predicting compound growth rates of 20% or more. Stream is positioned to consolidate itself as a global leader in M2M/IoT over the next few years”.
