CareTech chooses Maingate’s M2M connectivity services

CareTech has chosen Maingate’s communication platform Maingate M2M Connectivity in order to safeguard communications in their high-quality social alarm and personal security products. There are 200,000 analog social alarms in Sweden today, which will be replaced with digital technology over the next three years.

CareTech is a leading supplier of social alarms and personal security products and it would lead to 30,000 new subscribers per year over the coming years, which will be handled by Maingate’s communication platform.

The benefits of fully digital social alarms include security, effective management and the possibility of extended services. Digital social alarms can be monitored all the time continually and if any connection is broken quick action can be taken to fix the problem. In contrast, analog social alarms are controlled by dialing the users on a regular basis, usually once a day. This means that many analog social alarms, despite using intensive resources for their control procedures, may be out of action for up to 24 hours. There is also a hidden danger that when a digital device is inserted somewhere in the chain it can affect the telecommunications network connection regarding analogue protocols or cause other interruptions. With digital social alarms, all types of interruptions are quickly discovered.

“The transition to digital social services is strategic for CareTech centrally, regarding our offer to the market. After a thorough review of the market and suppliers we have chosen Maingate as a partner to manage the communication of our digital social services and personal security products. We have had high demands on quality, performance and price and we are confident that we now have the right partner for this in Maingate,” says Ulf Lindsten, CEO of CareTech.

“We are proud that CareTech has chosen Maingate to solve the communication needs of their digital social services and personal security products,” says Baard Eilertsen, CEO Maingate. “CareTech is a company at the absolute forefront in delivering high quality digital services. The demands that these services make on the underlying systems are incredibly tough. This drives us to continuously develop our systems and platforms, and that we are one hundred percent on top of quality and performance. For us it is extremely important that CareTech has chosen Maingate as a partner for its secure digital communication. It demonstrates that we have a strong offering and the skills companies expect in the selection of a provider of M2M connectivity. “
