Alpha Micro appoints chief sales officer Tim Bonnett to grow its franchised electronic component business

Alpha Micro Components, successful independent specialist franchised distributor of components for telematics, machine-to-machine (M2M) and Internet of Things (IoT) communications, has appointed Tim Bonnett as chief sales officer. In his new role Tim will be responsible for managing the sales team, marketing team, and the development and implementation of sales strategies to grow the company’s significant market share further still.

“Providing customers with cost-effective connectivity technology and expert advice in the selection and implementation process is top of my agenda”, said Tim. “At Alpha Micro we take pride in servicing the machine-to-machine (M2M), telematics, medical, energy monitoring, security and automotive sectors with wireless communication components from our various franchised product lines including u-blox, Laird, FTDI, Lantronix, GainSpan, AXSEM, and our own ‘AMC’ range. What really sets us apart from the competition is our design-based approach to distribution. A team of in-house design engineers work at integrating components from the franchised product lines into board-level designs, adding real value to the solutions on offer and providing customers with products that exactly meet their varied and demanding requirements.”

Tim-Bonnett-v1A talented sales and senior management professional, Tim has over 25 years experience running successful high technology, design- led distribution businesses and a broad knowledge of the semiconductor, display and embedded marketplace. Former managing director of MSC Gleichmann UK Ltd, one of the largest Pan European distributors for Design in Technologies, Tim combines high levels of business acumen with a clear focus on meeting the specific needs of every customer.
