Pelion wins ‘SME Deal of the Year’ award

Dave Weidner of Pelion

Internet of Things (IoT) connectivity service provider Pelion announced that it is ‘thrilled’ to have won the ‘SME Deal of the Year’ at the Insider.co.uk 25th Scottish Business Insider Deals and Dealmakers Awards.

“We are truly honoured to receive the SME Deal of the Year award,” Dave Weidner, CEO of Pelion, said in a LinkedIn post. “I would like to thank the team at Business Insider for recognising Pelion amongst so many deserving candidates in this category. This award is a testament to the dedication of my team along with the support of our investor SEP to fuel the growth of Pelion as a Scottish-based, technology leader delivering sustainable, secure, and scalable IoT connectivity to businesses across the globe.”

The other contenders in the ‘SME Deal of the Year’ category were Be-IT Resourcing, Lothian Broadband Group, and Optima Partners.

The 25th annual celebration of the Scottish sector’s best and brightest took place at the DoubleTree by Hilton, Glasgow Central, with special guest – and former Dragon – Piers Linney delivering a speech.

Last October, Scottish Equity Partners (SEP) completed a significant growth equity investment in Glasgow-headquartered Pelion. The funding was expected to enable the company to grow independently, and invest further in product development, sales and customer support.

Pelion customers span various sectors, including industrials, utilities, transport and logistics, and healthcare. Its use cases supported by the Pelion platform include infrastructure monitoring, connected industrial equipment, vehicle telematics, remote building access and patient monitoring.
