AT&T’s global wireless network now supports connected walking cane: CAN Go, by CAN Mobilities. The collaboration between CAN Mobilities and AT&T expands the accessibility of this innovative smart cane to the benefit of many Americans who have difficulty walking, their caregivers, and their loved ones.
The CAN Go Smart Cane provides more than traditional mobility assistance. It allows users, family members and caregivers to stay connected in the event assistance is needed. It can also help to allay the safety concerns shared by those with mobility limitations and their loved ones and caregivers.

According to estimates from the Census Bureau’s 2021 American Community Survey, about 7% of Americans report having serious ambulatory difficulties – struggling with walking or climbing stairs. Adults ages 75 and older and those ages 65 to 74 are the most likely to report having this kind of disability (30% and 15%, respectively), but there are also 8.8 million adults between the ages of 18 and 64 reporting ambulatory challenges according to the data.
