Stream Communications appoints Martin Wiesner as Director of Global Satellite for M2M

Glasgow, UK – M2M specialist Stream Communications has appointed Martin Wiesner as Director of Global Satellite for Machine to Machine.

Martin joins Stream from Honeywell Global Tracking, where he was Regional Manager for Africa, Europe & Australasia, responsible for new business development. He now takes on a pivotal role supporting Stream’s strategic international expansion of satellite based services for M2M, which extends the company’s current GPRS, 3G & 4G GSM based services.

Stream, who have extended their end-to-end GSM wireless connectivity for M2M devices, now bring their expertise into satellite connectivity providing wireless connectivity solutions via its ‘single view’ OaSys management platform.

Based in Stream’s new London office, Martin will lead global sales of satellite into M2M, bringing experience and expertise to emerging sectors including security, tracking, asset management, media streaming and SCADA.

Martin Wiesner says: “I see a growing demand for satellite, but it is a very fragmented market and connections are often hard to manage. Stream has extended OaSys to incorporate satellite connections. This brings a new level of consistency and transparency to the way M2M companies can manage their needs, irrespective of the underlying technology”.

Nigel Chadwick, Founding Director, Stream Communications says: “Appointing someone of Martin’s talent and experience, shows our commitment to achieving high growth in combined GSM and satellite technology. This is a vital element for anytime, anywhere M2M delivery of a consistent mix of M2M services across multiple territories”.

Previously Martin was with Mix Telematics in South Africa & UK.
